Louis, White Earn Men’s Track and Field Weekly Honors

FRISCO, Texas – Central Arkansas sophomore Corentin Louis and Sam Houston State senior Charles White were named the Southland Conference Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Central Arkansas, Corentin LouisLouis, a Luxembourg, Belgium, native, earned his second award this season after winning the mile last weekend at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Ala. His time of 4 minutes, 13.39 seconds broke his own school record and has him currently ranked third in the Southland. Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Sam Houston State, Charles WhiteWhite, a Las Vegas, Nevada (Eldorado H.S.), native, earned his first award this season after placing third in the triple jump with a leap of 51 feet, 0.75 inches at the Samford Invitational. The senior has the highest mark in the conference and currently ranks 20th in the country.center_img Each school’s sports information director nominates and votes for the athletes of the week, though is not permitted to vote for his or her own student-athlete.
